Casa Onze, an artist residency project located on Travessa Dona Paula in São Paulo, is conceived as a home that embodies the warmth often associated with Brazilian hospitality. The artist is invited to engage with a Brazilian cultural universe—within the city of São Paulo and also inside the house itself, which is furnished with carefully selected works of design, literature, music, and botany.
For each residency, the furniture and interiors are reconfigured by Dobra* to meet the needs of the guest artist. For Precious Okoyomon, for instance, a poetry lab was created, anchored by desks designed by Joaquim Tenreiro. Hosting one artist at a time, the space offers a double-height studio, kitchen, bedroom suite, garden, and library—an environment both welcoming and conducive to reflection and creation.
